I'm doing the Enchanted Tower quest (the one where you try to save the Human princess) and every time I try to use Bard Knights "Bless" spell the game crashes and I get this message:
___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ FATAL ERROR in action number 1 of Alarm Event for alarm 2 for object obj_battle:
Variable obj_battle_sprite.<unknown variable>(100186, -2147483648) not set before reading it. at gml_Object_obj_battle_Alarm_2 ############################################################################################ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- stack frame is gml_Object_obj_battle_Alarm_2 (line -1)
I have tried several times to make sure that it's the spell that causes the crash and I have succesfully replicated the crash each time.
Hope this helps!

No idea why this is happening on some machines but not others. You finish the recruiting of Bard Knight, go there, and the first battle casting Bless crashes it?

Sorry about the late reply.
But pretty much yeah. I think that I tried to use Bless at some point after the first battle and got the same results but I'm not sure. I haven't tried to use Bless with any other character yet but I think I'll try it out next and see if I get the same results.
P.S I forgot to mention it in my original post but I had tried to do the Goblin Princess quest (up until I got stopped by the post-siege cutscene crash) and was therefore at an higher level than what I think you're supposed to be at before I recruited Bard Knight (I think I was at level 3-5 or something). I don't know if it's relevant or not but maybe there is something there?

There is something there, but I'm not sure the character levels would be doing it. I'll be sure to take a look at that siege stuff when going through Kobold's quest and looking for the other bugs.

Yo, The same thing is happening to me. But I did it first thing in the game. Immediately went to the human king, got the bard knight, tried blessing and crash. I replicated it a few times entering in different battles to make sure it wasn't a weird thing with the enemy, but it feels like it doesn't matter who I'm fighting. I was on the Public Build and it was my first time playing, literally just downloaded it. Hope it helps figuring it out (Unless you already did and it just isn't in the public build yet 😅)

Thanks for bringing this back to my attention. We're no longer working on the Game Maker version, and instead in the process of porting the game to Unity. This issue should not come up in the new engine.
