I downloaded, saw, deleted, redownloaded, and the screen is still pitch black.
The conversation creator is fine for me, but the Towergirls game itself is the problem. I had no problems with the launcher. Despite being pitch black, I looked on the task manager and the game is still running without any problem, and it was taking up only a small, small percentage of my CPU usage. As far as the poor thing was concerned, Towergirls was running just fine.
I clicked around a bit and I heard page flipping, so the game was still running UI and all but the screen itself was black.
Is this a problem: HP Pavilion Media Centre m8277c PC Edition: Win 10 Version: 1607 OS Build: 14393.576 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz Installed RAM: 2.00 GB System type: 32-bit operating system, x64-based interior NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS graphics card
Thanks for your time.

I have a similar issue where, on startup, the game is pitch black except for a few lines of graphic errors. If I Alt-Tab out and in, it shows the image that would have been most recently displayed if the game were functional, but it doesn't animate into the rest of the rest of what it should be. Repeating the process does the same again, which admittedly does let me very slowly play the game. I've seen the sort of thing before once in awhile and usually it's a resolution error, but I had imagined that either of my 1920x1080 or my 1920x1200 should work with the game. And, from what I can tell, there isn't an option to go out of fullscreen. Any advice?

I ran into this problem too, and I found a solution that worked for me on the Game Maker forums.
Right click the .exe and go to Properties. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check on "Disable fullscreen optimizations". That's it. Run the game.
Hope this helps.
