Has been mentioned in passing in a thread for 0.510 back in December (near the end of this post towergirls.boards.net/post/858/thread ), but I thought I'd add some detail. Shackler disappears if a save is loaded at any time. Easiest way to reproduce: 1: Play until you wake up in Shackler's house (playing and skipping the tutorial have the same effect)
2: save immediately, without taking a single step (you can do as much as you want, this just cuts out extra time)
3: Load the save you just made, with or without quitting the game (happens either way)
Result: Shackler is gone, permanently. Can completely lock up the main quest if you don't sober up and talk to him before loading a save.
This disappearance happens if you load the game at any point, even after progressing past that point in the quest.
I'll see if I can get a log file up for this in the future. I've got some other bugs involving kobold knight (can't open character sheet) and the kobold/penguin siege (black screen with "press enter to begin siege" that is either unresponsive or acts as though I'm still walking around the kobold camp in the background, trying to sort out which) I'm trying to reproduce as well.

Kind of sort of working as intended. The origin NPC is meant to disappear after you finish the initial tutorial quest, but they're not supposed to be disappearing that early into it when loading. Thanks for pointing this out.
